USEPA-approved Mercury-free COD kits CHEMetrics’ leakproof reagent vials contain premeasured solutions of sulfuric acids and potassium dichromate. To perform the COD determination, the analyst simply removes the Teflon® lined screw cap from the vial, adds sample to the vial, and replaces the cap. The vial is then heated for two hours at the required temperature in a standard digestor block. Once digestion is completed, results are obtained using any photometer that accepts 16-mm diameter cells. CHEMetrics’ COD vials can be directly used with CHEMEtrics’ single analyte COD photometers, as well as Hachs’ spectrophotometers. SAM, Single Analyte Meters, 1233R89 COD Low Range and 1233R90 COD High Range, provide unprecedented economy, simplicity, and accuracy for dedicated photometers. The battery-operated meter features a light-emitting diode light source with optical paths of 13 mm light path, 16 mm light path and/or 22.5 mm light path. Photodetector: Silicon photo diode. The Organic series consists of clear and amber glass vials with solid or open top closures. The closed-top closures have Teflon® faced 14B white styrene-butadiene rubber liners and the open-top closures have a Teflon faced silicone septa assembled in the cap. The cap material is black phenolic; the cap and the liners are autoclavable. With all the organic vials, Teflon and type 1 glass are the only surfaces that will make contact with your sample. This sample vial and closure combination provides an extremely inert and chemically resistant environment for harsh, sensitive and reactive samples.
