The connection will seal on any standard bottle (33-45 mm). Membrane diameter is 76 mm and filter area is 39.2 cm 2 . ZapCap-S comes with a borosilicate pre-filter for high flow rates for cell culture media and other aqueous solutions as well as sterile filtration of solutions that can’t be autoclaved. ZapCap-S Plus also comes with an integrated borosilicate pre-filter for very high flow rates for sterile filtration and clarification of difficult-to-filter aqueous solutions. ZapCap-CR are chemical resistant bottle top filters for HPLC applications. Filters marked CA are sterilized by gamma radiation

Standard polycarbonate membrane filters are treated by a proprietary irgalan black process to render them dark gray. This essentially eliminates the natural autofluorescence of the membrane. Except for a reduction of transparency, the membranes have the same characteristics as standard Poretics polycarbonate membrane filters. Ideally suited for fluorescence microscopy because:
•The surface of the membrane is flat and smooth, assuring that no micro-organisms are captured within the filter structure as with ordinary tortuous pore filters.
•They exhibit extremely low non-specific absorption
•The elimination of autofluorescence assures high visibility against a non-distracting background

Each membrane is sequentially numbered with a chemically resistant polypropylene support ring. The low tare mass allows for accurate gravimetric determinations. No glues or adhesives are used in making the membranes and its stable design eliminates curling, keeping the membrane flat allowing for robot use.
