Advantec Glass Fiber Filters are depth filters made of pure borosilicate glass microfibers. Highly resistant to chemical attack and biologically inert. Binder-free and thermostable to 500°C. These grades are recommended primarily used in environmental air monitoring applications. Grade GB100R filters have very low trace metal content of As, Pb, Cd. Used in high and low volume air samplers for aerosols and airborne dust and metal contaminants. Gas Collection Efficiency(DOP): 99.99%. Other applications include filtering DNA/RNA and protein precipitates. Nominal Rating 0.6µm Grades GC50 & GA55 are also available. Find more information here . Advantec Glass Fiber Depth Filters feature high-loading capacity, fast flow rates, are highly resistant to chemical attack, and biologically inert. General purpose and clarifying filtration grades. Binder-free and thermostable to 500°C. Grade GA55 is a thin filter recommended for clarifying filtration and air pollution monitoring. Nominal Rating 0.6µm Grade GF75 collects very fine particles and has a high collection efficiency at 99.999%(DOP) and slower flow. Ideal for collecting IgG or other very fine protein precipitates. Use for TCLP EPA 1311. Nominal Rating 0.3µm(0.7µm) Grade GB140 is a thick filter with a high loading capacity. Used in industrial waste analysis and for suspended solids. Nominal Rating 0.4µm Grade GC50 is a thin filter recommended as a prefilter for membrane or suspended solids and pollutants in water. Low absorption makes this an ideal filter for scintillation counting. High Collection Efficiency(DOP) of 99.99%. Nominal Rating 0.5µm Grade GD120 has high wet strength and high-loading capacity. Primarily used to extend the life of a final filter, they can also be used as a low-cost sample clarifier. Prefilters increase the speed of filtration by trapping large particles before they reach the final membrane filter. Frequency and cost of replacing the final membrane filters is reduced. Filters with binders are composed of borosilicate glass fibers woven into a porous matrix and bonded by an acrylic resin. The resulting filter reduces media migration and has the strength required for high-volume aqueous filtrations. Maximum operating temperature is 165°C (325°F). Glass prefilters without binders are designed to avoid binder extractables during solvent filtration or gravimetric analysis. Not recommended for temperatures exceeding 510°C (950°F). For upstream protection of a membrane within a filter holder, the use of a prefilter that is slightly smaller in diameter than the main filter allows the prefilter to fit inside the O-ring or filter funnel holder seal, ensuring a positive membrane seal. When used as the main filter medium, select a diameter of the same size as the filter holder to be used.
