Advantec Disposable Petri Dishes are ideal for culturing microorganisms on a 47mm diameter membrane filter. The dishes are made of high-quality polystyrene material and are pre-sterilized by gamma irradiation. The dish features a squared edge and a raised ridge for ease of handling and secure stacking. OD54 x 11mm and packaged in sleeves of 20 dishes. Dishes are available with or without an absorbent pad. The cellulose pad absords 1.8-2.2mL of liquid. Perfect for Advantec 2mL ampoule media. Mixed Cellulose Esters (MCE) - General purpose filtration of aqueous solutions, including clarifying and filter sterilizing biological fluids, buffers, and pharma applications. Offers protein binding. Provides high flow rates. Nylon (NY) - Low extractables, no wetting agents. Nylon offers broad chemical compatibility making it a good choice for HPLC sample prep. Clarify and sterilize aqueous and organic solvent solutions, including buffers and tissue culture solutions. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) - PTFE is inherently hydrophobic making this media ideal for air filtration and venting applications. Traps aqueous aerosols. Filter organic HPLC samples. PTFE-Hydrophilic - Filter aqueous solutions and organic solvents. This membrane is versatile and and compatible with solvent mixtures used in HPLC, eg. Acetonitrile/Water. Several uniques properties of Nylon make this polymer universally accepted in the laboratory. Nylon is inherently hydrophilic lending to negligible amounts of aqueous extractables.
